Sight Specific
The Sight Specific paintings began from a desire to escape the photograph and studio, to work in a more immediate way from the subject. Beginning with a campaign to paint every house 'en plein air' (on site) on the street where I lived, from this method arose a fresh wet on wet style of portraiture. The paintings are usually created in one sitting, and preserve the freshness and immediacy of meeting/seeing. These works are oil on panel.
